Veteran Journalist To Accept Globe Buyout
Today is the final day for Boston Globe employees to accept the newspaper's latest buyout offer. The deadline falls as the Globe's parent, the New York Times Company, has announced a temporary five percent pay cut for non-union employees and issued a request for union workers to follow suit.
Veteran journalist David Mehegan is among those taking the buyout. He's been with the Globe since 1974, starting part-time and eventually notching up three-plus decades as a reporter and editor there. He joined WBUR to talk about his departure from the Globe and the paper's apparent decline.
