Babson College Closes Due to Virus

Babson College in Wellesley is shutting down for several days after 100 students and staff were sickened by a norovirus.

Babson officials said students and faculty have been afflicted with severe nausea and vomiting.

State Department of Health spokesman Tom Lyons said the virus is not life threatening, but it is "miserable." He said most people get better after a few days.

The school is expected to be closed until at least Wednesday while campus buildings are cleaned.

Students are allowed to remain in their dorms, but classes will be canceled.

School officials said they don't know the source of the outbreak, but Lyons said town health inspectors don't believe it's food related.
