Councilors Angered Over 'Pre-Budget' Hearings

Boston City Councilor and Mayoral Candidate Sam Yoon is planning a series of hearings on the city budget, in a move some of his colleagues call "misleading."

Some city councilor's say Yoon doesn't have the authority to hold the pre-budget hearings.

But Yoon says he wants to bring the budget process into the open for taxpayers to participate.

"It's something I believe strongly in whether I am running for mayor or a city councilor," Yoon says. "It's something that is important to our city."

Yoon says he hasn't broken any city council rules, and he held ten similar hearings his first year in office.
