Capuano Gets Endorsed By Congressional Colleagues

First, all of Rep. Michael Capuano's congressional colleagues decided against running against him for the U.S. Senate. Now they're all endorsing him.

Rep. Stephen Lynch was set Monday night to back his colleague in his bid to succeed the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Over the weekend, Rep. John Tierney did the same. And last week, it was Rep. James McGovern.

Rep. Barney Frank was the first, endorsing Capuano last month during his candidate-announcement event.

The Somerville Democrat has been casting himself as the most experienced Washington player in the field.

The other Democrats running are Attorney General Martha Coakley, Boston Celtics co-owner Stephen Pagliuca and City Year co-founder Alan Khazei.

Kennedy died Aug. 25 of a brain tumor.

This program aired on October 19, 2009. The audio for this program is not available.
