Family and friends are paying their final respects at a funeral service for four members of the same family found slain in their Winchester home.

Hundreds of mourners attended the service Thursday for 64-year-old Ellen Stone; her daughter, 41-year Laura Stone Mortimer; and Stone Mortimer's children, 2-year-old Charlotte and 4-year-old Thomas Mortimer V at the Epiphany Episcopal church in Winchester.

Four caskets were taken into the church before the service.

Authorities allege they were beaten and stabbed to death by Thomas Mortimer IV, Stone Mortimer's husband and the children's father. The bodies were found June 15.

He has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, and his lawyer has said his mental health is in question.
