Revolution End Scoreless Drought, Beat Galaxy 2-0

Marko Perovic's goal in the 67th minute snapped New England's 347-minute scoreless streak, and the Revolution beat the league-leading Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 Saturday night.

Perovic's blast off a free kick was the first Revolution goal since the May 29 match against the New York Red Bulls. Midfielder Sainey Nyassi added another in the 74th minute after he cleaned up a rebound.

The Revolution, who were embarrassed last week in a 5-0 loss at Real Salt Lake, came out strong against the Galaxy, who were without U.S. star Landon Donovan.

Edson Buddle, the Galaxy's other U.S. team member, threatened with pair of quality chances near the Revolution goal, but never found the back of the net.

Matt Reis, in only his second MLS match of the season, recorded his first shutout of the season.
