More Sharks Sighted In Cape Cod Waters

Shark sightings continue to fray some nerves on Cape Cod.

Swimmers were ordered out of the water at Nauset Beach in Orleans on Thursday after a lifeguard with binoculars spotted a shark fin about 300 yards off shore. The all-clear was sounded about 90 minutes later.

Several great white sharks have been seen in the area of Monomoy Island off Chatham this summer. Scientists say they've been drawn there by an explosion in the seal population.

The last fatal shark attack on a human in Massachusetts was nearly 75 years ago.

Also Thursday, two large but harmless basking sharks were reportedly spotted near shore at White Horse Beach in Plymouth. One of the sharks later died after beaching itself.
