The New England Patriots open their season on Sunday, hosting the Cincinnati Bengals, and quarterback Tom Brady is ready for some football.

The Patriots quarterback turned up for practice on Thursday just hours after he'd been involved in a car accident in which there were no life-threatening injuries. The Patriots, though, will have to overcome injuries to key players on defense and cope with an AFC East that is as strong as it's been in years if they are to advance to the postseason.

For a preview of the upcoming Patriots season, WBUR's Bob Oakes spoke with ESPNBoston.com's Patriots beat writer, Mike Reiss.

This program aired on September 10, 2010.
