Napolitano To Visit Fenway Park For Citizens Oath

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is scheduled to visit Boston's Fenway Park to take part in a naturalization ceremony for more than 5,000 immigrants.

The ceremony Tuesday is part of the department's annual celebration of Constitution Day and Citizenship Day.

Constitution Week honors the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.

It's the second time that the home of the Boston Red Sox - who are in Seattle to play the Mariners - is being used for a naturalization ceremony.

In 2008, the Oath of Citizenship was taken at Fenway Park by around 3,000 immigrants.

Immigrant advocates say they hope to register the new citizens to vote Tuesday.

This program aired on September 14, 2010. The audio for this program is not available.
