Boston Man Convicted Of Shooting Eighth-Grader

A 19-year-old Boston man has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole after being found guilty of gunning down another teen at a school bus stop.

Xzeniyeju Chukwuezi was convicted by a jury in Suffolk Superior Court on Tuesday of first-degree murder, which carries the automatic life sentence without parole.

Prosecutors said Chukwuezi shot 15-year-old Soheil Turner in the back of the head as the eighth-grader ate a honey bun and waited for a bus to school on May 7, 2009, in the city's Roxbury neighborhood.

Prosecutors said the incident was caught on surveillance cameras and several witnesses put Chukwuezi at the scene.

Suffolk District Attorney Daniel Conley called the defendant a "coward."

Chukwuezi denied being the gunman.
