1 Man Killed, 1 Hurt In Stabbing On Boston Bus

Boston police say one man has died and another has been hospitalized with injuries not considered life threatening after a stabbing on an MBTA bus.

Police got reports of the stabbing in the city's Roxbury neighborhood just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday. According to police, two men in their 20s were stabbed when a fight broke out on the Route 44 bus.

Police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll says both victims were taken to Boston Medical Center where one was pronounced dead. Both victims are men in their 20s.

City and transit police are looking for several suspects seen fleeing from the bus.

No names were immediately released and no motive was given, but Driscoll says both victims are "known to police."

A nearby elementary school was put in lockdown as a precaution but no students were ever in peril.
