U.S. Rep. Markey Re-Elected In 7th Mass. District

U.S. Rep. Edward Markey, the dean of the Massachusetts congressional delegation, has been re-elected to another term on Capitol Hill.

Markey, a Malden Democrat, defeated Republican challenger Gerry Dembrowski of Woburn Tuesday in the state's 7th Congressional District.

Markey has represented the district in the U.S. House since 1976. He chairs the Energy and Environment subcommittee and the Select Committee on Energy Independence.

Dembrowski, a chiropractor, campaigned against "career politicians" and questioned whether Markey still lived in the district.
