Arlington Schools Hold Off On Winter Sports Fees

The Arlington school district is holding off on collecting winter sports fees for students.

At a school committee meeting Tuesday night, parents such as Doug Fagan complained about new, higher fees and asked for a cap on what families pay.

"I really wanted to walk home with the family cap in place," he says, "but you know, we'll stick with it and hopefully we'll get it in time. We hopefully gave them a lot of options of ways to come up with the money to offset the costs."

Fagan currently pays $1,500 for his son to play three sports.

The committee will take up the issue again in December.
