Courts Advisor: Change Legislation To Stop Corruption

After an independent review showed “systemic abuse and corruption of the hiring and promotion processes” at the state's Probation Department, Massachusetts lawmakers continue to propose plans that would shakeup Probation.

Earlier this year, a court-ordered panel described the Probation Department as "dysfunctional" and in need of an overhaul.

Speaking with Morning Edition's Deborah Becker, Boston attorney Michael Keating, who chaired the Court Management Advisory Board, said today's Probation Department problems stem from changes made almost a decade ago.
