Water Main Break In Downtown Crossing Area

UPDATE: Workers are cleaning up a water spill in Downtown Crossing. The Boston Water and Sewer Commission said it's found and contained the source of the leak — a private water line that feeds the fire sprinkler system to a parking garage on Avenue De Lafayette.

Several buildings in the vicinity that were without water earlier Tuesday morning now have service.

Emergency crews are working to fix a water main break in the Downtown Crossing area.

Several buildings in the affected area on Washington Street between Lafayette and Winter Street are without water.

The Boston Water and Sewer Commission said workers are digging to find the source of the break and hope to restore service soon.
