Alleged Lottery Scam Artist Goes On Trial Tuesday
A Kansas man is set to go on trial in Massachusetts Tuesday for allegedly duping a local woman in a foreign lottery scam.
Prosecutors say Darrell Kinney told a 83-year-old Arlington woman she won the lottery in Jamaica, but had to pay $100,000 in taxes before claiming the fake prize.
The woman sent checks totaling $93,000 to an address in Kansas.
Kinney is charged with two counts of larceny.
