Republican Sen. Scott Brown enjoys wide favorability and could be tough to beat in his 2012 re-election bid, according to a new poll out from Suffolk University and WHDH-TV.

The survey of 500 Massachusetts voters found 55 percent of respondents said Brown should be re-elected. Fifty-six percent say he's kept his promise to be an independent voice in the U.S. Senate.

Pollster David Paleologos joined Morning Edition Monday to discuss the poll results.

This program aired on April 7, 2011.
