Some Asking Partners HealthCare, 'Where's The 40 Million?'

Some insurers and small businesses want to know, "Where's the money?"

They're asking about the $40 million that Partners HealthCare pledged last year to a fund that would offset small business insurance premium increases. Massachusetts Association of Health Plans Vice President Eric Linzer wants to know, "What's the hold-up?"

"The promise of the 40 million was to help small businesses in 2010," he said. "If this drags on until the end of the year then it limits the ability to provide some relief to small businesses this year."

Partners is the only provider who pledged money to the fund. A spokesman says Partners will deliver the money, as promised, by the end of this year. Partners took the 40 million dollars as an accounting charge last year.
