Kerrigan's Mom: My Son Begged His Father To Get Up

The mother of Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan said her son was crying and begging his father to get up after a struggle that prosecutors say led to his death.

In a second day of testimony Thursday, Brenda Kerrigan said her son, Mark Kerrigan, initially thought his father, Daniel Kerrigan, was faking when he collapsed in January 2010.

But she said her son was soon kneeling next to his father, telling him he loved him and begging him to get up.

Mark Kerrigan is accused of manslaughter.

The prosecution argues a drunken Mark Kerrigan's fight with his father triggered heart failure. The defense said Daniel Kerrigan died of a long-standing heart condition.

Nancy Kerrigan put her arm around her mother to comfort her after she finished testifying Thursday morning.
