Man Found Dead In 'Suspicious' Scituate Fire

An overnight fire in Scituate that claimed the life of one man is being called "suspicious" by authorities. Chief Richard Judge says the fire at 3 Bound Brook Court at about 11 p.m. on Monday was quickly brought under control, but the victim was found dead on the second floor. His made was not immediately released and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

The building houses a law office on the ground floor and an apartment on the second floor.

It appears the fire started in the living room and spread quickly.

Some witnesses reported hearing an explosion before the blaze.

The state Fire Marshal's office is assisting in the investigation.
