Water Main Break Repaired In Cambridge

Workers have stopped a water main leak that flooded part of a residential area in Cambridge.

Crews worked Saturday night to contain the water main break and stopped it by Sunday morning. The cause is being investigated.

The break occurred Saturday night at Broadway and Trowbridge Street. Part of Broadway was shut down while emergency management officials try to stop the water leak and deal with the flooding.

Motorists and pedestrians were asked to avoid the area, parked cars were towed and some nearby homes were evacuated.

The break flood streets and left many most of the city's residents with little or no water pressure.
