Mass. Businesses Feeling Less Positive About The Economy

Some Massachusetts companies are feeling less positive about the economy. The Associated Industries of Massachusetts says its Business Confidence Index fell nearly four-and-a-half points last month to 51.7, which is just above the neutral score of 50 points.

AIM's Raymond Torto says the index has been in positive territory for eight months.

"I think what we can draw from the may numbers is that although the economy in Massachusetts is still improving, all this bad news we get in the headlines day in and day out is wearing on business confidence," he says.

But many businesses say they're less certain about the future of their own operations.
