James "Whitey" Bulger will be back in Boston "within a couple of days," according to federal officials, to face the indictments he fled in 1995. Bulger will face 19 counts of murder and other charges.

The fugitive mobster and his longtime girlfriend, Catherine Greig, appeared in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles late Thursday, where they both waived their right to a removal hearing.

WBUR's Monica Brady Myerov was in Los Angeles Friday morning, outside the apartment complex in Santa Monica where Bulger and Greig apparently lived for the past 15 years.

This program aired on June 24, 2011.
