Beach Closings Across Massachusetts

More than a dozen coastal cities and towns in the state have closed beaches Thursday due to high bacteria levels.

The closings include Tenean Beach in Dorchester and Wollaston Beach in Quincy.

Three towns on Martha's Vineyard also have beach closings.

Public health officials on the Vineyard say high bacteria levels are not common and they're trying to find the source of the contamination.

Up-to-date information on beach closings and water testing around the state can be found on the Bureau of Environmental Health’s website.
