Severe Weather Forecasted For Monday Evening

The hot and humid weather Greater Boston experienced early Monday could change to serious storms in the afternoon or evening.

The National Weather Service is warning of the possibility of severe thunderstorms in some areas, with a chance of flooding, high winds and even hail.

WCVB-TV chief meteorologist Harvey Leonard said the amount of sunshine we get before Monday night's mild cool front might make the difference.

“Anything ahead of that cool front that tends to heat the air up at ground level would make things more unstable and increase the chance of getting some strong storms,” Leonard said.

Tuesday is expected to be sunny and a bit less humid, but temperatures could be close to 100 by the end of the week.
