Mass. Tea Party Members Frustrated With House Delegation

Some Massachusetts congressmen are frustrated that members of the Tea Party are gaining influence in the U.S. House.

Of course, many U.S. voters support the Tea Party, including some in Massachusetts, according to Christen Varley, president of the Greater Boston Tea Party.

"We still have a real disconnect, members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation and the voters and taxpayers of Massachusetts on the ground," Varley told Morning Edition's Bob Oakes.

Voters all over the country watched the debt ceiling fight in Congress.

"Americans are looking for their federal government to make hard decisions," Varley said. "Unfortunately, our Massachusetts congressional delegation is not ready to make those decisions yet."
