The New England Patriots kick off their preseason Thursday night at home against the Jackson Jaguars.

Thanks to the league's lockout, the Patriots, along with the rest of the NFL teams, had to start training for the upcoming season later than usual.

The result?

"It's looked pretty shaky," said Mike Reiss, of ESPNBoston, who joined Morning Edition Thursday to discuss the team. "Tom Brady, the quarterback, said late last week, 'We're way behind our normal pace.' You look out on the practice field, you see a lot more dropped passes than you'd normally be expecting to see."

This program aired on August 11, 2011.
