Duxbury Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

Twenty-five-year-old Timothy Steele, of Duxbury, was killed by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, according to his family.

Steele was a U.S. Army lieutenant and a graduate of West Point Military Academy. He served in the 3rd Brigade Combat Team and was based out of Fort Drum in New York.

The Duxbury Clipper reports Steele is Duxbury's first casualty from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Steele is survived by his wife, Meaghan, and their 1-year old daughter Liberty.
