Brockton Teen Fatally Shot On City Street

Brockton police are investigating the city's ninth homicide of the year. Authorities say 19-year-old Kalvin Santos was shot at Main and Tremont streets at about 1 a.m. Sunday. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

In addition, a 21-year-old woman was shot in the same incident. Monica Lopes-Teixeira was taken to a Boston hospital with what are considered non life-threatening injuries.

Investigators tell The Enterprise of Brockton that Santos was shot in the chest and right hand.

There was no word on a motive or arrests.
