Investigators Ask For Public Help In Avon Murder

Authorities investigating the first homicide in Avon in 15 years are asking anyone with information to contact Massachusetts state police.

Investigators say several shots were fired into a car late Monday, killing 23-year-old Kristopher Rosa. Another person in the same car was unharmed and drove Rosa to a Brockton hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police responding at the scene could not find the car.

There have been no arrests and the motive is unclear. But police say they believe the victim, who grew up in town and has an infant child, was targeted and it was not a random attack.

A spokesman for Norfolk District Attorney's office asks anyone with information to contact state police at 508-820-2121.

Avon police say it's the first homicide in the town since 1996.
