'Bad September Baseball' Puts Red Sox Playoff Chances In Question

For the Boston Red Sox, the playoffs are still within reach... but only just.

With just six games left in their regular season, the Sox hold a two-and-a-half game lead in the wild card race against the Tampa Bay Rays and the LA Angels.

On Friday night the Red Sox go up against the team that's already clinched the division title: the New York Yankees.

WBUR's baseball analyst, sports writer Glenn Stout, joined Morning Edition to talk about the Sox playoff prospects.

This program aired on September 23, 2011. The audio for this program is not available.
