Police Chief On Cape Cod Faces DUI Charge

The arraignment of a police chief on Cape Cod charged with drunken driving has been postponed. Truro Police Chief John Lundborn was arrested Friday night after the police cruiser he was driving was involved in an accident.

Lundborn had been scheduled to go before a judge Monday in Orleans District Court, but the arraignment was continued until Nov. 4.

WXTK-FM reports that the case has been transferred to Plymouth County to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest.

Defense attorney John Vigliotti said his client is undergoing unspecified medical treatment.

The chief was not injured in the single-vehicle crash. He was placed on administrative leave. Selectmen plan to discuss his future at a closed session Tuesday.

Lundborn has worked in the department since 1999 and was named chief in June.

This program aired on October 17, 2011. The audio for this program is not available.
