Mass. Worker Thrown From Bucket After Crash Dies

A Quincy city worker has died after he fell from a bucket truck that was clipped by a passing tractor trailer rig on Route 3A.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey identified the worker as 58-year-old Robert DeCristofaro of Braintree. He said the man was in the bucket working on an overhead traffic signal at Washington and Chubbuck Streets at the time of the Tuesday morning accident.

DeCristofaro was taken to Boston Medical Center, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The tractor trailer driver stopped at the scene and has talked with police.

Morrissey also said the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
