Torrential Rain Possible In Parts Of New England

Portions of New England could be in for a heavy soaking. Forecasters expect rain to move into the region later on Wednesday with the potential of one to three inches in parts of northern Connecticut, Rhode Island, eastern and central Massachusetts, and southern New Hampshire.

The National Weather Service says the heavy rain could result in localized flooding in some urban or poor-drainage areas, and some small streams could fill up their banks. But no major flooding is forecast.
