Man Shot Dead In Boston; 3 Being Questioned

BOSTON — Police say a 21-year-old man has been shot several times and left dead in the middle of a Boston street.

An officer says three men have been taken into custody after being seen leaving the area in the city's Roxbury neighborhood in a speeding vehicle shortly after the shooting at 8 p.m. Monday, but it's not clear yet if they are connected to the shooting.

Police say the victim was not known to them, but the three men detained were.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's name was not immediately released. Relatives at the scene said he did not live in Roxbury but was visiting an aunt.

The slaying was the city's 54th of the year.
