First Snow, Flurries Of Season Could Hit Boston Thursday

Boston could see the first snow of the season Thursday night in the form of wet flurries.

Bill Simpson of the National Weather Service says there could be .5 inches of accumulation in Boston and 2 or 3 inches in the western past of the state.

"After the evening commute, the cold air will eventually move into the Boston area, so we'll get some mixing and maybe some light slushy accumulation. But, within (Route) 128, accumulation will be — if at all — on grassy surfaces," Simpson said.

Snow is not expected on Cape Cod.
