Mass. Priest Facing Child Porn Charges Disappears

A Roman Catholic priest in the Worcester Diocese facing charges of possessing child pornography and stealing from his parish is unaccounted for and church and civil authorities think he has fled to his native Philippines.

A spokesman for the Worcester district attorney's office says a default warrant has been issued for the Rev. Lowe Dongor after he failed to show for an Oct. 25 court hearing.

Worcester Bishop Robert McManus tell The Telegram & Gazette he has written Catholic leadership in the Philippines warning that Dongor may be there.

Authorities say images of preteen girls were found on Dongor's computer during service. He also allegedly stole $40 to $60 from St. Joseph parish in Fitchburg on several occasions. He was released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty at his arraignment.
