Gov. Deval Patrick is planning to write a second book, this one on the state of politics in America.
The Massachusetts Democrat was in New York City on Thursday shopping the book.
In an email to political supporters Thursday, Patrick said the book will focus on what he calls "the politics of conviction."
Patrick said he wants to highlight examples from Massachusetts and across the country he says demonstrate how to strengthen local communities.
It's the second book Patrick will work on while governor. Patrick, the state's first black governor, is also planning to spend part of the next year campaigning for his political ally and friend, President Obama
Patrick's first book chronicled his rise from poverty, concluding with his early experience as governor. He signed a $1.3 million contract for that book
