Police: Brothers Broke Into Coffee Shop

Police say two brothers suspected of breaking into a Canton Dunkin' Donuts shop over the weekend may be tied to dozens of similar burglaries around Boston.

Police responding to an alarm at the coffee shop just after midnight Sunday arrested 35-year-old Peter Wallace of Boston and 33-year-old Wayne Wallace of Quincy after a brief car chase.

Officers say they found a crowbar, sledgehammer and masks in the vehicle.

Chief Kenneth Berkowitz says the brothers are suspects in about 30 break-ins at Dunkin' Donut shops in Weymouth, Braintree, Wellesley and other communities dating to May.

He says in every robbery, someone used a crowbar to force open either the driver-through window or a back door, then broke into the safe or cash register.

The Wallaces are scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
