While a number of candidates — Democrats and Republicans alike — are already lining up to run for his seat, 16-term Rep. Barney Frank's decision not to seek re-election has stunned one group: his constituents.

Nowhere will his retirement be felt more keenly than in the city of New Bedford, where Frank has long been a protector of the fishing industry.

Steve Urbon, a senior correspondent for the Standard-Times, joined Morning Edition Tuesday to share a New Bedford perspective on Frank's career.
