Dem. Senate Candidate Unveils Job Creation Plan

Democratic Senate candidate and Rep. Tom Conroy is calling for several measures to boost job creation.

Conroy's five-point plan calls for investment in infrastructure, clean energy and manufacturing. Conroy adds he's also considering relaxing free trade agreements to spur consumer demand.

"We are at a crisis point and people are clamoring for new job opportunities and this may be one way to help help the economy and I think it needs to be on the table, and it's worthy of discussion."

Conroy's plan would additionally give a tax refund of $1,000 per household for buying American-made goods.

Conroy says this refund would jump-start the American production and would "make people think about buying American first, it will increase manufacturing capabilities in the country, and it will lead to new job growth."

Conroy is running against several Democrats, including Harvard law professor Elizabeth Warren, in order to challenge Sen. Scott Brown in 2012.

This program aired on December 1, 2011. The audio for this program is not available.
