Principal Suspended After Aide Charged In Student Assault

The principal of a Dorchester school has been suspended without pay for two weeks because she failed to report allegations against a teacher's aide of inappropriate contact with a student.

Boston Schools Superintendent Carol Johnson took action against Jessica Bolt after it was determined that a year ago the King School principal violated district protocol and state law by failing to file a report with the state Department of Children and Families, after conducting her own investigation of the accusations against 33-year-old LaShawn Hill.

This week, Hill was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct involving an autistic student at another Boston school.

On Monday, Johnson will meet with school principals to review procedures dealing with inappropriate behavior.
