N.H. Newspaper In Keene Endorses Huntsman

New Hampshire's Keene Sentinel is endorsing Jon Huntsman for the Republican nomination for president.

A Sentinel editorial published Sunday says the former Utah governor and ambassador merits support from Republicans and independents voting in the first-in-the-nation primary Jan. 10.

The editorial says Huntsman displays boldness in economic policy that belies his temperate personal demeanor, and believes that the country's divisions cannot be closed by forcibly moving in only one direction.

It also cites his hands-on experience in international affairs, principally involving China, that's entirely lacking in every other Republican whose name will be on the presidential primary ballot.

Editorial endorsements can be influential in the state whose early primary can establish momentum for a presidential candidate. The state's largest newspaper, the New Hampshire Union Leader, has endorsed Newt Gingrich.
