Brown, Warren Staffs To Meet About 3rd Party Ads

Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren's campaign says staffers for Warren and Republican rival U.S. Sen. Scott Brown will meet to discuss stopping attack ads on each other from independent groups.

Brown had asked Warren to join in him in calling for the outside groups to stop the ads.

Warren initially defended the rights of independent groups to air the ads, but later said she would work with Brown. On Saturday, Warren's campaign said Brown had called Warren back and they agreed their staffs would meet to devise "an enforceable agreement."

So far, Brown's been targeted in ads from groups such as the League of Conservation Voters, while an American Crossroads-affiliated group aired an ad against Warren.

In his letter Friday, Brown said voters deserved an honest campaign where the candidates themselves contest their ideas.
