UMass President Worries About 'Simplistic Answer' To Rising Tuition

College and university officials in Boston and around the nation will be closely watching as President Obama unveils his new federal budget proposal Monday, and is expected to address the issue of ever-rising college tuition.

The president has been pushing a plan to steer federal funding toward schools that work to limit tuition increases and could call for imposing tuition caps.

Robert Caret, the president of the University of Massachusetts system, joined WBUR Monday morning to discuss Obama's proposal and rising tuition.
