Former Massachusetts House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi is now imprisoned only a short distance from the federal courthouse where a grand jury that's investigating state corruption meets.
Officials at the Wyatt Detention Facility in Central Falls, R.I., confirmed Tuesday that DiMasi is currently housed there.
DiMasi could appear as early as Wednesday before the grand jury that's looking into patronage in the Massachusetts Probation Department.
Law enforcement sources tell WBUR that the grand jury meets in Worcester on most Wednesdays.
