Family Steps Up Efforts To Find Missing BC Student
State police are conducting an underwater search of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir in an effort to find a missing Boston College student.
A spokesman says the department's underwater recovery unit will use side-scan sonar on Monday in the search for Franco Garcia.
The 21-year-old Garcia has not been seen since last Wednesday morning when he went to Mary Ann's, a bar popular with BC students near campus. The reservoir is between the bar and campus.
A helicopter search of the reservoir came up empty.
Family and friends returned to the bar Sunday holding posters of Garcia, hoping to jog someone's memory.
His mother says her son is responsible.
The Newton man has brown hair and eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing jeans and a white-and-blue striped shirt.
