Boston Police Probe Infant’s Death At Parking Lot

Authorities are investigating the death of a six-month-old girl who was removed from a car parked at a fast food restaurant in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

Police say officers responding at the KFC restaurant on Columbia Road found emergency medical technicians removing the infant from the vehicle early Saturday.

The baby was taken to Boston Medical Center, where physicians pronounced her dead.

There were no visible signs of trauma on the infant. Police are waiting for results of an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

Police say the baby's mother was in the vehicle when emergency workers arrived.

Authorities did not immediately identify the infant or her mother. They also did not say who called emergency workers at the scene and why they were summoned to help.
