Mattapan Murders Trial Winding Down

Defense lawyers have finished their closing arguments in the trial of two men accused of gunning down a toddler and three adults during a drug robbery in Mattapan in 2010

Prosecutors will also give closing statements on Tuesday. The case would then go to the jury.

The trial has lasted nearly a month and 48 witnesses have testified.

Dwayne Moore and Edward Washington are accused of gunning down the victims on the streets of the city's Mattapan neighborhood in September 2010 after robbing a marijuana dealer. A fifth victim survived but was left paralyzed.

Those slain were Simba Martin, his girlfriend, Eyanna Flonory; her 2-year-old son, Amanihotep Smith; and Levaughn Washum-Garrison. Marcus Hurd survived.
