Brown, Warren Agree To Senate Campaign Debates

Sen. Scott Brown has congratulated his Democratic opponent, Elizabeth Warren, for winning her party's endorsement and said he wants a debate.

The Republican senator issued a statement on Sunday, saying he looks forward to a "spirited campaign."

Brown said he has accepted a debate invitation from radio host Dan Rea of WBZ-AM in Boston and that he is challenging Warren to join him.

On Sunday, a spokeswoman for Warren replied in an emailed statement that the Democratic candidate is glad Brown accepted her debate challenge on Saturday and that she will reach out to her rival to discuss details.

Warren said Saturday after winning her party's endorsement that she will debate Brown and that she is ready.

She won nearly 96 percent at the state convention, avoiding a primary.
